AN OPEN LETTER TO ALL LIUSBC MEMBERS

Dear Members:

The LIUSBC Board of Directors has been working diligently to keep our members updated during these challenging times. We hope you and your family are doing well and staying at home.

At the present time, the office is closed until at least April 29th. This follows New York State’s most recent mandate. While the office is closed the LIUSBC staff will be working from home to continue operations. We have recently issued prize fund checks for the February Senior Singles Handicap event held at Bowl Long Island. We have also been updating our website (LIUSBC.com) and Facebook page with USBC announcements.

To ensure the safety of our members, all LIUSBC events have been canceled for the remainder of the season. If we can reschedule an event, ample notification will be provided. As a reminder, we are still conducting the bi-weekly sweepstakes drawings. If your number is drawn anytime during the closure, we will present you with the prize as soon as the office reopens.  Keep checking those numbers on the LIUSBC website.

We are all looking forward to the time when bowling centers and the LIUSBC office can reopen. When that time comes the LIUSBC will be available to assist all sanctioned leagues in completing or ending their winter season.

We know the most important question is: “how is the suspended season handled?” We have posted on our website USBC guidelines for finishing your league. Please note each league must vote on how to end or continue the winter season. Some leagues will choose to continue while other leagues will decide to cancel. Per USBC, a majority vote of the League Board (Officers and Team Captains) will determine whether a sanctioned league will continue or cancel the remainder of the season.  Once a league votes the decision must be agreed upon by the host center.

Everyone please stay safe, because as I often say, “there is no family like my bowling family.”
