Wantagh, NY: The Long Island United States Bowling Congress (LIUSBC) held its annual doubles tournament at AMF Wantagh and crowned multiple champions. The Mixed Doubles handicap champions were Chris Lucchese, Bellerose, NY and Christina Schulze, W. Babylon, NY. The Mixed Doubles scratch champions were Anthony D’Elia, E. Islip, NY and Christina Schulze. The Over/Under doubles handicap champions were Josh Marino, Port Jeff Station, NY and Joe Ferraiolo, W. Islip, NY. The Over/Under doubles scratch champions were Adam Ehrlich, Sayville, NY and Jay Solomon, Wantagh, NY.
The Mixed Doubles champions Chris and Christina shot a 1479 handicap series to earn the $366 top prize. Finishing in second, and earning $250, was Mike Simeone, Lindenhurst, NY and Carolyn Willis, Bethpage, NY with a 1461 series. There was a total of 21 Mixed Doubles handicap teams with 4 teams cashing and a cut score of 1425. The Mixed Doubles scratch champions were Anthony D’Elia and Christina Schulze who shot a 1451 worth $240.
The Over/Under champions Josh and Joe shot a 1538 handicap series to earn the $366 top prize. Finishing in second, and earning $250, was Jaden DeJesus, Farmingville, NY and Jerry Curtin, Farmingville, NY with a 1531 handicap series. The winners of the scratch Over/Under side event were Adam Ehrlich and Jay Solomon with a 1454 series worth $160. There was a total of 21 Over/Under doubles teams with 4 teams cashing and a cut score of 1467.
The LIUSBC raffled off two Motiv balls and the winners were Destiny Schaffer, Middle Island, NY and Calvin Nottingham, Deer Park, NY. A special thanks to all of the participants and congratulations to all of the cashers. The LIUSBC is a non-profit organization that oversees all sanctioned leagues, offers a variety of youth programs, and promotes the sport of bowling.
