Farmingdale, NY: The LIUSBC hosted a Holiday No-Tap tournament at Farmingdale Lanes and crowned nine champions. Congratulations to Alan Seib, Rich Glinnen, Tony Genova, Pete Scavuzzo, Bob Miller, Scott Resnick, Anthony Castellano, David Ghirardi, and Brian Hoever who tied for first place with a 900 series. All 9 “champions” won $225 each. A 10th spot was paid with Evelyn Arena earning $60 with an 897.

The handicap no-tap tournament was created to offer all bowling levels a fun tournament for nice prize money. The no-tap event was affordable and featured a handicap of 80% of 300. With the large handicap, and all nine counts scored as strikes, many perfect games were expected. The 48 entries didn’t disappoint as sixty-three no-tap handicap 300 games were shot. The league averages of the 9 champions ranged from 153 to 231!

A special thanks to Ace Mitchell for donating a 900 Global Extreme which was raffled off and won by Anthony Castellano. The total prize fund payout was $2,085 including $500 added by the LIUSBC. SUNation, an LIUSBC major sponsor, was also at Farmingdale Lanes supporting the event.

LIUSBC’s next adult event is the annual 700 club tournament at Coram Country Lanes on January 11 & 12. This is a 3-game scratch tournament, with a $50 entry fee, featuring guaranteed top prizes of $1,000 & $500 and a 16-bowler match play final. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy holiday season.
