Patchogue, NY: The LIUSBC ran its first youth event of the season and crowned 4 champions at Bowl L.I. The winner of the 144 & under division was Giovanna Barkman, Ronkonkoma, NY with a 903 worth $152 in scholarships. The 145 to 174 champion was Kyra Walter, W. Babylon, NY with a 907 worth $175 in scholarships. Brandon Feldman, Deer Park, NY won the 175-204 division with an 892 series worth $175 in scholarships. The winner of the 205 & over division was Joshua Bholan, St. James, NY with an 868 series worth $127 in scholarships.

The Youth Leader 9-Pin No-Tap tournament was a fun event where 9’s on your first ball counted as strikes. A total of 11 youth bowlers earned scholarships totaling $1,100. The LIUSBC added an additional $230 to the prize fund to increase the payout.

The LIUSBC Youth Leader No-Tap drew a total of 58 bowlers. Cut scores to earn scholarships were; 878 in the 144 & under division, 861 in the 145-174 division, 856 in the 175-204 division, and 833 in the 205 & over division. Besides offering scholarships, the tournament gives an opportunity for youth bowlers to learn how to run an event. Many of the students handled a variety of responsibilities and were instrumental in all phases of the tournament.
